Meet Jonathan Kim – Founder of Hope Music Studios
Jonathan Kim is a passionate musician, educator, and creative leader with over a decade of experience as a Music Director, Creative Arts Director, and Pastor. His journey began with a once-in-a-lifetime performance at Carnegie Hall in middle school and continued as a youth band musician at his local church—igniting a lifelong love for music and its power to connect people.

As a teacher, Jonathan is known for his engaging, student-centered approach, encouraging each learner to find their voice and creativity through music. Since 2010, he has taught at respected institutions such as La Habra Music, Clavier Music Academy, Leading Note Studios, and within LA-based after-school programs. His broad musical experience—spanning genres and band settings—brings fresh, innovative energy to every lesson.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor’s in Music from Biola University and a Master’s in Theology from Talbot School of Theology. He also serves as the Worship Director at Seacoast Community Church in Encinitas, CA, and regularly guest leads worship at camps and churches including Hume Lake, Saddleback San Diego, Grace Church North Park, Redeemer San Diego, and Mission Hills Church.
